Stop the Timer
Can you feel ten seconds?
How to play
Try the 10 second challenge: start a hidden stopwatch, then stop when you think exactly 10 seconds have passed. Three rounds reveal how close your internal clock can get.
- Press Start timer, count to ten in your head, then press Stop timer. The running clock stays hidden. Use the large button or Space and Enter while it is focused.
- Stop all three rounds to finish. A round left running for 20 seconds ends the run as a timeout; the whole run has a 90-second limit. Leaving the page cancels the run.
- Lower average absolute error wins: 9.92 seconds and 10.08 seconds are both 0.08 seconds off. Complete runs beat unfinished ones. Device and input delays affect close results; this is a casual game.
Work out your stopwatch challenge result
These sample times explain the score; they are not actual player results.
- Start the hidden timer and stop when you feel ten seconds have passed. The result reveals your elapsed time and how early or late you were.
- Stops at 9.90, 10.20 and 9.70 seconds have absolute errors of 0.10, 0.20 and 0.30 seconds. The average error is 0.20 seconds.
- Complete all three rounds. A smaller average error wins, regardless of whether you stopped early or late. A timer running for 20 seconds ends the run as a timeout.
A few useful details
How do I play the 10 second timer challenge?
Press Start timer, count ten seconds in your head and press Stop timer. The live stopwatch is hidden. Repeat for three rounds to get your average absolute error. Play free on a phone or computer without signing up.
Is this a reaction time game?
This hidden timer game asks you to estimate an interval. A reaction test asks you to respond to a signal. They are different challenges; neither is a clinical test or a verified measure of ability.
Can I stop the timer at exactly 10 seconds?
Aim as close to 10.000 seconds as possible. The game measures browser input time and shows your error. Display and input delays vary by device, so close results are for casual comparison rather than a verified competition.
Can I play free and challenge a friend?
Yes. No account or download is needed. After a run, share its challenge link so your friend gets the same seeded setup. Your personal records stay on this device.
